Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Internship or academic experience in network engineering, data center operations, or system administration.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, ARP, IP Tables, Routing).
- Experience with Unix/Linux system administration.
- Programming or scripting knowledge in Java, C/C++, Shell, or Python.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented with basic project management experience.
Job Description
As a NORPer, you’ll be part of Google’s Network Engineering team, rotating between different areas such as:
- Network Engineering
- Technical Program Management
- Infrastructure Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, support, and improve Google’s network infrastructure.
- Propose automation tools and process improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams across the globe.
- Participate in internal training and execute real-world technical projects.
After two years, high-performing NORPers are transitioned into full-time roles such as:
- Network Engineer
- Software Engineer
- Technical Program Manager
Salary and Benefits
